Holly's Slumber-Pawty Fundraiser at the Shelter!

My name is Holly Kennedy-Jones, and God has blessed me with a gift to care for HIS animals in need.  I currently have 4 rescue dogs, 4 rescue cats, goats, chickens and even turkeys!  Whew...that's alot...so with that being said, I've decided AGAIN to participate in the DeSoto Parish Animal Shelter's 2nd annual "Slumber Pawty" nationwide fundraiser!  I've chosen a rescue to stay with overnight, (actually sleep in the kennel with the dog) for 24 hours, at the Animal Shelter to bring you live updates in an effort to reach my goal of $1,500!  These funds will stay in DeSoto Parish, and will be used for the spay/neuter program which will help maintain control of the overpopulation issues we face.

Some say “Oh it’s just a dog” but GOD has given some of us a love for HIS creatures.  This past year our family had to unexpectedly say goodbye to our Rex…aka “Sexy Rexy, Man of the house, Mama’s Boy, Shadow Chaser, Loyal Buddy.” We rescued him when he was only 4 weeks old from  DESOTO PARISH ANIMAL SERVICES and he has been right by our side for the last 9 years.  We also had to say goodbye to our 17 year old pug..."Izzy Girl"..oh goodness, you talk about a precious baby!!  Our animals become members of our family and it’s just so tough letting them go. Our house is a little quieter without our "Sexy Rexy and Sweet Izzy," but we are thanking GOD for giving them both to our family and for showing us the unconditional love of HIS creatures. So this year's fundraiser I would like to honor both Izzy & Rex's memory!
