Hi everyone!

I am so excited to participate in the "National Shelter Slumber Pawty" at Paws Crossed Animal Rescue in Elmsford, NY on April 5th & 6th.  It's a 24 hour, overnight cute-a-thon featuring all the adoptable kitties 🐱 & pups 🐶, plus the staff and volunteers that give them 💕 every day as they wait for their furever home.  My four-legged furry friends and I want you to see how rescue pets live, how much time and attention goes on behind the scenes by staff, volunteers & fosters, and, most importantly, why donations are an integral part of caring for all these fur babies.

Although our foster, Tortellini, will be partying at home with my husband, he wants you to know a little bit about himself. Tortellini came to the rescue when his owner passed away.  If he could talk, he would tell you he was sad and in mourning, didn’t want to talk to anyone, and just wanted to be left alone. We were asked to foster this sweet boy in a home environment to draw him out of his shell and uncover the fun loving, playful cat inside.   After weeks of patient love and attention, we are so excited to finally see Tortellini’s confident and loving nature begin to shine through.

Do we get attached to our fosters? Isn’t it difficult when they leave?  Yes and yes, but did you know that:

1.  For each foster we work with at home, we free up room at the shelter for another cat to be rescued.  So, it’s like we are saving two cats!

2.  When we welcome a foster into our family, we get know them really well.  That gives us the unique opportunity to share lots of details of their personality with potential adopters.

3.  Living in a foster home environment, especially for shy cats, makes it a little easier for them to settle into their new forever home once adopted.

Please consider donating to PCAR’s Mission:  “Rescue One By One Until There Are None."  Even a small amount will help provide care, comfort, and second chances to pets in need and help make a difference for Tortellini and his friends!
